Cockatoo Island Resort Cockatoo Island Resort is the only Island Resort located on the north west coast of Australia and is nestled amongst the 1000 or so islands which comprise the majestic Buccaneer Archipelago. It was re-opened in September 1997. Board the light aircraft in Broome for a 70 minute scenic flight which will take you over some of the world's most spectacular scenery - Cape Leveque, The King Sound and the Buccaneer Archipelago before landing on Cockatoo Island. Here you can unwind, relax, hang out at the beach, do some ocean fishing, whale watching (in season), bush walks, oyster hunts or have private picnics on deserted islands. There are guided island tours and half day or full day fishing charters aboard the island's vessel. Tours are priced between $100.00 and $200.00 per person. You can visit such places as Silicone Beach, nearby Pearl Farms and Crocodile Creek. What you need to bring: What's the weather like? Where do you sleep? All meals are included in the rate. They have a well stocked bar, however if you have specific tastes, advance notice can be given and they'll stock what you would like. The Resort has a Club Restaurant, Cocktail Bar, swimming pool and spa, floodlit tennis court, billiard room, fitness room, Yacht club, conference room.
